OREGON DISTIRCT BRIDGE MURAL
IN 2020, I WAS AWARDED THE JOB OF DESIGNING AND PAINTING A MURAL ON THE 5TH ST BRIDGE ENTRANCE TO THE ORGON DISTRICT. THE OREGON DISTIRCT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION GAVE ME RELATIVLEY FREE REIGN AND ONLY WANTED THE DESIGN ELEMNTS OF LIONS AND A GEM WITHIN THE DESIGN. I TOOK THIS INTO CONSIDERATION AND MADE THE LIONS BOOK ENDS TO THE FRONT OF THE DESIGN. THE LIONS ARE ROARING TOWARDS THE MIDDKE OF THE BRIDGE AND IN THE MIDDLE IS THE GEM REPRESENTING THE GEM CITY OR DAYTON. THE REMAINDER OF THE DESIGN IS MEANT TO BE SHARDS OF A GEM REFLECTING LIGHT. I WANTED THE COLOR SCHEME TO EXPRESS ENERGY SO I CHOSE ORANGE FIRST AND THEN A TEAL COLOR TO CONTRAST WITH THE ORANGE TO REPRESENT STABILITY. TO PHYSICALLY IMPLEMENT THE DESIGN ON TO THE BRIDGE I PUT TOGETHER A TEAM CONSISTING OF MY SELF, TWO EXPERIENCED MURALISTS (B.K. ELIAS AND LYDIA WILLIAMSON), AND VOLUNTEERS FROM THE COMMUNITY.
